4th Grade Homework and Grading Policy
Rubrics are widely used for projects, group work and reports. CMS grading scale is used for classroom assessments. A=100-93, B=85-92, C=77-84, D=76-70, F=69-0
Homework and classwork will be reviewed and scored using a √+, √, √- system.
√+=100%: full effort
√=85%: partial effort
√-=70%: minimal effort
60% = no effort.
Make up work/late work is accepted by the end of the unit or quarter whichever comes first. 5 points will be deleted from late work unless the child and teacher have set up special arrangements.
Students scoring a 93% (minimum A) on a pre-test will have the opportunity to choose whether they would like to take the posttest. If they do, they will earn the better score of the two.
Students scoring below a 70% on a unit post-test will have the opportunity to retake a different test when they feel they are ready. They will be responsible for letting teacher know when they are ready to take the test. This will take place after intervention and remediation has occurred within the classroom. The retest will occur in the same quarter as the original test. The retest grade will be averaged in with the original post-test grade.
